The Summit Branch Library is a division of the Jackson District Library that serves over 31,000 residents in the city of Jackson. The library first opened in 1939 in the Vandercook Lake Town Hall and later moved to its present location, a 3,000-square-foot building, in 1956. More than 400,000 books and serial volumes are available at the library, which circulates about 1.1 million items annually, including history, health, and business collections. It is open from Monday to Saturday and offers a range of programs and services for children and adults.
