The Smyrna Public Library is part of the Rutherford County Library System that serves 55,500 residents in the City of Smyrna. The library maintains over 300,000 volumes in its collections and circulates roughly one million items per year, including 85,300 electronic books, 13,300 audio, and 24,100 videos. The Smyrna Branch was founded in 1960 and opened in its new facility in November 1999, a 22,500-square-foot building. In addition to traditional library resources, it provides computers and classes, internet access, genealogical groups, STEAM activities, storytimes, Kid's Yoga, and other library events.
