The Sara Hightower Regional Library serves over 144,220 residents in the city of Rome and counties of Chattooga, Floyd, and Polk. Joined with the Chattooga County Library System, the library comprises six member libraries located in the Northwest Georgia region. The library system maintains 494,650 volumes and circulates 631,897 items per year. It provides meeting spaces, free WiFi, public computers, educational computers for children, and print services. Some of the library's programs include homeschool meetup, storytime, Spanish storytime, crafts, LEGO, and computer assistance.
