The Northwest Georgia Regional Library System serves about 237,830 residents in Dalton City and the Counties of Gordon, Murray, and Whitfield. The library began in 1945 through the merger of Catoosa County's Ringgold Library and Whitfield County's Dalton Library, with the addition of Calhoun Library in 1957 and Chatsworth Library in 1958. The Regional Library maintains 309,592 volumes and circulates over 400,000 items per year, including books, music, audiobooks, and videos. It offers wireless internet access, printing, copying, faxing, scanning, and 3D printing services as well as computer classes, tutoring, and various library programs available at its different locations.
