The Montague Branch Library serves 2,435 residents in the City of Montague in Muskegon County. The library is a part of the Muskegon Area District Library, which maintains 188,829 volumes and circulates 505,014 items annually. The Montague Branch was opened in 1938 and is now housed in a joint-use building with the Montague City Hall and the Police Department on the corner of Ferry and Spring Street in downtown Montague after undergoing several expansions and relocations. It houses traditional library resources, artwork collections, Michigan local history and special materials, a seed library, and a Storyville village and records an annual circulation of approximately 47,000 items. In addition, It offers book sales, public computers with internet and Office packages, internet access, printing/copying/faxing, test proctoring, storytimes, summer reading programs, and other library events for children and adults.
