The Madison Square Branch Library is a part of the Grand Rapids Public Library that serves the City residents. The library system maintains 757,000 volumes and circulates over 1.7 million items per year, including books, eBooks, audiobooks, graphic novels, music, magazines, movies, and TVs. The branch first opened in 1992 in a storefront and now occupies a more spacious building with a children's play area, a series of DVD collections, public computers, free WiFi, and a parking lot. It offers notary and printing services, a Teen Anime Club, and other events.
