The Flushing Area Library serves about 8,340 residents of Flushing City and is a part of the Genesee District Library. The library system maintains 617,311 volumes and circulates roughly two million items each year. Flushing's library services began in 1873 with the formation of the Ladies Library Association, but the Flushing Area Library joined the County Library System in 1966. It currently has large print collections, after-hour book drop boxes, 11 public computers, and free WiFi, and offers fax & copy services, storytime, readers' book club, and 3D printing club events.
