The Fenton Children's Center serves nearly 12,000 residents in the city of Fenton. It is public-funded and managed under the Genesee District Library (GDL). GDL was formed when Genesee County and Grand Blanc Township formed a partnership in 1980. Fenton Children's Center was opened to cater to and serve the growing need for library facilities. Today, it contributes to the aggregate library facility inventory of the county, which includes nearly 600,000 books and serial volumes, more than 13,000 eBooks, almost 30,000 audio files, and more than 117,000,000 video files. Additionally, it has circulated almost 2.5 million items, with more than 1.3 million visits and more than 55,000 registered borrowers across all 19 sites.
