The Columbine Library is a public library serving more than 45,000 residents in the city of Littleton, Colorado. It belongs to the Jefferson County Public Library System as a subsidiary branch (JCPL). It was created in 1952 when local library systems merged under one umbrella with the goal of empowering all citizens through information. JCPL operates 15 libraries and the bookmobile, all equipped with its three core values of innovation, accountability, and excellence, and Columbine Library, one of the branch library was opened in response to the rising demand for library services and a larger area. It adds to the county system's overall resources, which include more than 700,000 books and serial volumes, more than 45,000 e-books, nearly 90,000 audio files, and more than 120,000 video files. Also, the library system saw more than 2.4 million visitors annually, more than 7.4 million items circulated, and over 350,000 registered borrowers. Additionally, JCPL circulates over 7.3 million articles each year and keeps close to a million volumes on hand.
