The Black Rock Branch Library serves about 148,000 residents of Bridgeport in Fairfield County, Connecticut. With over 394,000 books and serial volumes, 9,000 electronic books, 13,000 audio, 45,000 videos, and roughly 485,000 items in annual circulation, the library is a full-service branch of the Bridgeport Public Library. It first opened as a Carnegie library in 1932 and reopened in July 2009 in an 11,000-square-foot building after renovations. The library has 12 public computers, free WiFi, meeting rooms, a small conference space, regular storytime, ESL lessons, Medicare training, Author visits, and a variety of other activities for children, teens, and adults.
