The Elcho Branch Library, a publicly funded and managed library and an affiliate of Antigo Public Library (APL), serves a little more than 300 residents in Elcho, a town in Langlade County, Wisconsin. In 1910, APL started in Elcho as a traveling library service, and in 1926, the library was taken over by the Woman’s Club. Today, books, magazines, newspapers, movies, audiobooks, video games, free Wi-Fi, public computers, early learning computers for children, seating space with charging stations, a gaming room with Nintendo Switch, copy, scan, fax, and lamination are just some of the available services at the Elcho Branch. The Elcho Branch is only one of the two branches, plus the central library-APL, that has a total aggregated visits of almost 200,000 and more than 9,000 registered borrowers, while the overall collection and services of APL maintain more than 50,000 book and serial volumes; more than 120,000 electronic books; almost 4,000 audio and more than 3,000 videos; and circulate almost 150,000 items per year.
