The Dane County Library Service serves over 260,000 residents of Madison, the county seat of Dane County. The library was established in 1966 and began Bookmobile services in 1967 to reach the cities, towns, and villages within the County. It provides books, talking books, movies, digital materials, and services for all patrons, including jail groups, at-risk children, seniors, and elderly housing complexes. The Dane County Library Service also offers Readmobile program in partnership with community organizations to provide outreach services to the neighborhood.
