The Hazel Brown Leicht Memorial Library serves 5,270 residents in West Salem Village and is a part of the La Crosse County Library. The library system maintains 145,000 volumes and circulates 498,300 items per year. The Library branch in West Salem was opened in December 2000 and is housed in a 9,500-square-foot building with a children's area and study rooms. In addition to books and electronic resources, the library offers book sales, storytimes, youth activities, and adult programming, including summer movies.
