The Waban Library Center is a community library that serves the residents of Waban in Newton City, Massachusetts. It started serving the community in 1930 and was closed as a Waban Branch of the Newton Free Library in 2008 due to the financial downturn. Through the efforts of the volunteers, the library was reopened in 2009 and continues to operate today, housing over 13,220 volumes in collections. Approximately 5,000 items are circulated annually, including playaway audiobooks and music CDs. It is open for services from 10 AM Tuesday to Saturday and offers regular storytime events, book clubs, and other library programs.
