The Charlestown Branch Library serves the residents in the Charlestown neighborhood of Suffolk County. The library, a division of the Boston Public Library, opened to the public in 1862 with about 6,000 volumes and currently maintains over 8.2 million books and serial volumes and more than 3.7 million items in annual circulation. It holds local history resources and language collections in Chinese and Spanish and provides computers, community spaces, printing and scanning services, and a variety of events for all ages, including Little Groove and Gentle Yoga activities.
