The Virgil I. Grissom Library, formerly the Denbigh Branch Library, serves 184,587 residents in Newport News City and is a part of the Newport News Public Library. The Library System maintains 230,000 volumes and circulates 442,539 items per year. The Branch was named for the American astronaut Virgil Grissom, and it houses a Makerspace and a Computer Lab. It provides adaptive computer equipment, public computers with printing, WiFi, copy/fax/scan, notary services, technology classes, book clubs, and other numerous programs and services.
