The Sherwood Regional Library serves over 159,000 residents in the City of Alexandria and is a Fairfax County Public Library branch. The Library System maintains 2.1 million volumes and circulates approximately 10.1 million items per year. Sherwood Regional Library opened its doors in 1971 and operates seven days a week. It holds print books, audiobooks, movies, electronic resources, and Korean, Spanish, and Vietnamese Language collections. It has a children's area, meeting and study rooms, and 19 Internet stations with Microsoft Office and wireless access. Additionally, it houses a Tech Lab where patrons are provided with one-on-one tech assistance and computer tutoring.
