The Prince William Public Library System (PWPLS) serves more than half a million residents in Prince William County. The library maintains eight hundred thousand volumes and circulates 2.5 million items per year. Founded in 1965, PWPLS started at Leesylvania Branch, located on the first floor of the Prince William County Administration Building, and in 2021 they opened their twelfth library in Mansas City to continue to serve the surrounding communities. Consequently, a little over 1.4 million visits to their branches, including more than one million website users, are catered to every year, providing 3.6 million materials borrowed by the residents of the Prince William area.
