The Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch Library serves the residents of Norfolk City and is a part of the Norfolk Public Library. The Library System maintains 550,511 volumes and circulates 823,559 items per year. The Branch Library was established 1923 as the Ocean View Branch and was renamed Mary Denson Pretlow Library in 1961. It houses collections of library materials, a Meeting Room, a children's area with Playscape and KidZone, a Computer Lab with 90 public computers, the Randi Marston Peterson Maker Studio, and the Ocean View Station Museum. It offers various resources, services, and events, including Toddler Time, Open Gaming, English Conversation Groups, and Book Clubs.
