The Marathon City Branch Library serves 1,560 residents of Marathon City and is part of the Marathon County Public Library. The MCPL is a Wisconsin Valley Library Service member and operates at nine locations in Wausau Athens, Edgar, Hatley, Marathon City, Mosinee, Rothschild, Spencer, and Stratford. It maintains 250,252 volumes and circulates approximately 1.1 million items per year. Marathon City Branch holds collections of fiction, nonfiction, audiobooks, movies, TV series, and digital materials.
