The Jefferson-Madison Regional Library (JMRL) serves 210,000 residents in the city of Charlottesville, Albermarle County. The library operates a Central Library in downtown Charlottesville, Crozet Library on Library Avenue, Gordon Avenue Library, Greene County Library in Stanardsville, Louisa County Library on Davis Highway Mineral, Nelson Memorial Library on Thomas Nelson Highway, Northside Library on Rio Road West, the Scottsville Library on Bird Street, and a Bookmobile. The library maintains 503,398 volumes and circulates 1.6 million items per year, including regular books, digital collections, and periodicals. It provides laptops for in-library use, meeting rooms, WiFi, notary services, wireless printing, faxing, and literacy programs. The JMRL houses the Maker & Digital Media Lab at the Central Library, Nelson Memorial Library, and Northside Teen Maker Lab where patrons can access 3D Printing/Scanning, Audio/Video/Sound Editing, Button Making, Cricut Making, Drawing Tablet, Laminator, Large Format Printer, Laser Cutting, Sewing Machines, Video Conversion, and other creativity equipment and services.
