The Hatley Public Library, a publicly funded and managed library and an affiliate library of the Marathon County Public Library (MCPL), serves more than 500 residents in the city of Hatley in Marathon County, Wisconsin. Founded in June 2005, Hatley Branch opened its doors not only to the Hatley community but to the entire Eastern Marathon County, which includes Bevent, Elderon, Norrie, Reid, and Ringle. Additionally, together with the Community/Senior Center, other facilities and services, including a multipurpose room, a conference room, offices, and a kitchen, are open to the public and will be used for community activities and gatherings. Hatley is only one of the eight branches, plus the central library in Marathon, with a total aggregated visits of more than 340,000 and more than 77,000 registered borrowers. It also contributes to the overall collection and services of MCPL, which maintains more than 250,000 book and serial volumes; a little more than 120,000 electronic books; more than 18,000 audio and more than 19,000 video collections; and circulates more than one million items per year.
