The Des Arc Public Library is a publicly funded and managed library that serves almost 2,000 residents in the city of Des Arc, Arkansas. It is an affiliate branch of the Lonoke/Prairie County Regional Library, which was founded in 1987. To make up for the library system's current expansion and fully serve its patrons, the Des Arc Public Library was opened in 1996. It contributes to the system's overall collection and services, which now total more than 160,000 books and serial volumes, more than 8,000 e-books, more than 6,000 audio files, and more than 7,000 video files. Over 48,000 people have registered as borrowers with the library system, which has 21 sites, including the central library, and circulates more than 180,000 items with more than 163,000 visits each year.
