The Central Express Branch Library and Administration, an affiliate library of Maricopa County Library, serves almost eight hundred thousand residents in Phoenix. The library maintains almost half a million volumes and circulates 7.7 million items per year. In 2006, it had 13 branches with 4.2 million total circulations, and in 2020 it reached 18 branches with 13.1 million total circulations. Additionally, the library is publicly funded and managed under the direction of a library director.
