The Bucks County Free Library serves almost half a million residents in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The library maintains more than half a million volumes and circulates 2.8 million items per year. Founded in 1956, the Bucks County Free Library was created and governed by a 7-member board appointed by the Bucks County Commissioner. Today, the library system has seven branches with the mission and vision of creating comfortable, safe, and welcoming physical and virtual spaces to foster a meaningful library experience for the residents of Bucks County. Additionally, materials and services are available to help young children enter school ready to read, write and learn.
