The Sturgis Branch is a publicly funded and managed library that serves more than 1,000 residents in the city of Sturgis, in Union County, Kentucky. It is an affiliate branch of the Union County Public Library District which was founded in 1964. In response to the growing need for library services, the Sturgis Branch was opened in 1987, which contributes to the overall collection and services of the county library system, which includes more than 62,000 books and serial volumes, more than 72,000 e-books, 500 audio files, and more than 1,000 video files. Additionally, the library system hosts over 37,000 visitors a year, circulates over 86,000 items, and has over 7,000 registered borrowers.
