The Richmond Branch Library serves 1.5 million Philadelphia residents in the Richmond and Port Richmond neighborhoods and is a part of the Free Library of Philadelphia. The library system maintains 2.8 million volumes and circulates 7.5 million items per year, including books, audiobooks, videos, and electronic resources. The present Richmond Branch Library opened in 1910 and has since undergone renovation and expansion to include more collections, wireless internet, public computers, meeting spaces, office devices, and other facilities. It provides printing, copying, and book drop services in addition to a variety of programs for kids, teens, and adults.
