The Ramonita G. Derodriguez Branch Library serves the people living in the Olde Kensington, Kensington South, Ludlow, Yorktown, East and West Poplar, Northern Liberties, and Girard/Poplar neighborhoods in Philadelphia. The library is one of the divisions of the Free Library of Philadelphia, which maintains 2.8 million volumes and circulates 7.5 million items per year. The Ramonita G. Derodriguez Branch originated as the Girard Avenue Branch in 1968 and was renamed in 1977 in honor of the Puerto Rican community leader. The library provides meeting spaces, public computers, printers, photocopiers, electrical outlets, and other facilities, as well as storytime events, a book drop, and reference services.
