The North Branch of the Bridgeport Public Library serves the City residents in Connecticut's Fairfield County. The library system maintains over 484,900 volumes and circulates 466,400 items per year, including resources for children and adults. The branch originally opened in 1918 with funding from a Carnegie grant and now occupies a 19,800-square-foot building with a collection of 45,000 volumes, magazines, CDs, and DVDs for checkout, public computers, WiFi, a large capacity meeting room, and two private rooms for studies. It offers storytime, history classes, homework help, and other activities.
