The Baxter-Patrick James Island Library is a Charleston County Public Library Branch that serves 153,672 residents in the City of Charleston. As a part of the County Library, the library contributes to the 756,468 volumes on hand and over 1.3 million items in annual circulation. Charleston County Library is a publicly funded and managed library comprising over 18 branches. Baxter-Patrick James Island Branch occupies a 20,000-square-foot building and is open for services from 9 AM Monday to Saturday. It houses a Creative Studio, a Computer Training Center, a Study Room, a Children's Area with Reading Nooks, a Dedicated Teen Area, and Meeting Spaces. It also offers public computers, WiFi, mobile printing, notary, and various programs for all ages.
