The Edgar Allan Poe Branch Library is a part of the Charleston County Public Library and serves over 1,800 residents of Sullivan's Island in Charleston County. The library is a 2,000-square-foot library named in honor of author Edgar Allan Poe. As an affiliate of the Charleston County Public Library, it contributes resources to the over 1.3 million items circulated annually. It maintains collections of 15,000 books, articles, music, and movies. Located in a former Spanish-American War four-gun battery Battery Gadsden, Edgar Allen Poe Branch Library is open from 9 AM Monday to Saturday. It offers public computers, WiFi, printing, copying, and notary services.
