The Eastern Monroe Public Library serves over 89,000 residents in the city of Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Opened in February 1916, the library system has since undergone expansions and now consists of the Hughes Library in Stroudsburg which is the Main Library, Smithfields Branch in East Stroudsburg, and the Bookmobile. The system maintains about 203,500 volumes and circulates roughly 437,320 items per year, including books, audiobooks, fiction, magazines, CDs, DVDs, Playaways, and resource room items. The library offers wireless internet access, public meeting spaces, computer classes, summer reading programs, workshops, and other events and services for kids, teens, and adults.
