The Beaufort County Public Library System serves over 193,000 residents of Beaufort County through six branches and a Bookmobile. The library system maintains a collection of more than 299,000 volumes and circulates roughly 525,890 items per year. Its items include regular books, eBooks, magazines, newspapers, talking books, Wonderbooks, Blood Pressure kits, and Ukuleles. It also provides State Park passes, meeting rooms, WiFi access, and computers, along with printing, copying, scanning, and faxing services. Programs and events such as arts & crafts, storytime, book club, StoryWalk, and tax assistance are provided at the library branches.
