The Preakness Branch Library is a publicly funded and managed library that serves almost 30,000 residents in the city of Wayne in Passaic County, New Jersey. As an affiliate library of the Wayne (NJ) Public Library, it contributes to the overall collection and services of the county library, which includes more than 200,000 book and serial volumes, 475 eBooks, almost 12,000 audios, 11,665 videos, and circulates almost 400,000 items per year. The major library serving Passaic County, New Jersey, is the Wayne Public Library system, which is the main county library, and Preakness is the only branch. Founded in 1923, Wayne (NJ) Public Library opened the Preakness branch late in the 1970s with a mission to provide outstanding materials, access, and services that assist the individuals' quest for knowledge and provide for an informed citizenry in a democratic society. Today, the county has a total of more than 550,000 visitors and a little over 21,000 registered borrowers.
