The Plumsted Library serves 2,187 residents in the community of New Egypt and is a branch of the Ocean County Library. The Library System maintains 1.3 million volumes and circulates 4.6 million items, including print books, eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, music, DVDs, video games, and local history resources. Plumsted Branch Library opened its doors in August 1974 and moved to its current location in 1998. It offers traditional library resources, computers, WiFi, technology services, and programs like Book Discussion, Knitting/Coloring Club, Storytime, Drop-in Craft, and English/Spanish Conversation Group.
