The Fort Gay Public Library serves 670 residents in the Fort Gay Town, southwestern West Virginia, and Eastern Kentucky. It is a branch of the Wayne County Public Library and belongs to the Western Counties Regional Library System. The Fort Gay Public Library holds over 23,000 books, book cassettes, CD books, DVDs, videos, magazines, and other library resources and provides a meeting area, six public computers, wireless internet access, and print/copy/fax services. It also serves the Fort Gay Elementary School and offers children's programming.
