The Burns Branch Library, a publicly funded and managed library and an affiliate of the Laramie County Library System, serves almost 500 residents in Burns, a town in Laramie County, and is part of the Cheyenne, Wyoming Metropolitan Statistical Area. Founded in 1933, the Burns Branch was opened to save travel time while providing a larger selection of the collection for the residents. Today, Burns Branch is only one of the two branches, plus the central library – Laramie County Library, plus the Laramie County Library System Bookmobile. Additionally, the branch also contributes to the overall collection and services of Laramie County Library System, which maintains more than 300,000 book and serial volumes; a little more than 7,000 electronic books; more than 25,000 audio and more than 18,000 video collections; and circulates more than 750,000 items per year.
