The Western Carteret Public Library serves 2,270 residents in the Cape Carteret area and is a part of the Carteret County Public Library. The Library System operates five locations, including Beaufort, Bogue Banks, Western Carteret, Down East, and Newport Branches. About 355,750 volumes are available on hand and 699,971 items are circulated annually by the Carteret County Public Library System. Western Carteret Branch has books, eBooks, articles, audio, and video collections. It offers Storytime, Chair Yoga, Mahjong, Tech Help, Adventures in Astronomy, Book Club, and other literacy programs. Notary services are also available from Monday to Friday.
