The Kanawha County Public Library serves about 181,000 residents of Charleston City and the Counties of Kanawha and Putnam. It includes the Main library, nine branch libraries, and a Bookmobile. The library records 280,000 yearly patron visits, maintains 522,700 volumes, and circulates 944,670 items per year. The collections span different genres and include print and digital resources. Kanawha County Public Library provides public computers with printing features, public meeting rooms, storytimes, reading challenge opportunities, book clubs, and other numerous programs for all ages. In addition, it has an I.D.E.A. Lab equipped with tools for sewing, embroidery, 3D printing, laminating, cricut, button making, and more.
