The Bradshaw Public Library, an affiliate library of the McDowell County Library System, serves over 21,000 residents in Bradshaw, a community in McDowell County on the Dry Fork of the Tug Fork River, West Virginia. Founded in 1982, the McDowell County Library formally opened its first library even though it started with 36 books as early as 1936 and served as a warehouse operation for the nine branches of the county. Today, the Bradshaw Public Library is one of the three branches that the McDowell Public Library maintains. Southern West Virginia continues to rely on the library to meet its informational, social, and academic requirements.
