The Washington Village Branch Library is a publicly funded and managed library that serves almost 580,000 residents in the city of Baltimore, in Maryland. It is an affiliate branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library established in 1882 when Enoch Pratt, a businessman in Baltimore donated four branch library plus endowment for a library that shall be for all and in 1886 the Central Library branch was opened at Mulberry Street. The Washington Village is just one of the 21 branches plus the central library that make up the library system's current expansion to fully serve its patrons. It contributes to the systems overall collection and services, which now total more than 2.3 million books and serial volumes, more than 70,000 E-Books, more than 61,000 audio files, and more than 56,000 video files. Over 200,000 people have registered as borrowers with the library system, which has 22 sites and circulates more than 1.2 million items and more than 1.7 million visits each year.
