The Baltimore County Public Library (BCPL) serves almost eight hundred thousand residents in Towson. The library maintains 1.4 million volumes and circulates 10.6 million items per year. Founded in 1948, it started in the headquarters located in central Maryland in Towson, Maryland. Today, BCPL has 19 libraries, operates four bookmobiles, and offers a wide variety of services with a mission to provide opportunities to explore, learn, and connect; and a vision to empower and engage individuals for a more inclusive and connected Baltimore County community.
