The Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL) serves more than six hundred thousand residents in Tulsa. The library maintains 1.7 million volumes and circulates 5.9 million items per year. As early as the 1900s, public library service had already started, but it was only in 1962 that the library officially assumed control of the library system. Today, TCCL has a total of 24 branches with a mission to inspire, promote learning, and create connections that strengthen our communities. Additionally, TCCL has more than 1.7 million items, including books, CDs, DVDs (in regular and Blu-ray formats), magazines, audio books, e-books, and other formats.
