The Shute Park Branch Library is a part of the Hillsboro Public Library and serves over 154,150 residents in the city of Hillsboro, Washington County. The first Hillsboro Public Library was established in 1914 with support from the Carnegie Foundation. In 1975, through a voter-approved bond levy and the advocacy of the Friends of the Library group, the library moved into a new 15,000-square-foot facility. That same year, the Shute Park Branch opened its doors and now houses a collection of over 57,000 books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, and other items. Public services at the branch include meeting rooms, WiFi, internet computers, assistive technology stations, and technology services like printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. Notary services are also available by appointment.
