The Salem Public Library serves 239,558 residents in the City of Salem, Marion County, Oregon. It was founded in 1904 by the Salem Women's Club and operates two branches - the Main Branch in downtown Salem and the West Salem Branch on Glen Creek Road. The library maintains 389,804 volumes and circulates approximately 1.2 million items per year. These collections include regular books, large prints, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, magazines, genealogy resources, kits and totes for kids, book club kits for adults, Libros en español, and cultural passes. It also provides WiFi, study and meeting rooms, public computers, a learning space for children and teens, and a variety of programs for all ages.
