The Providence Public Library, a nonprofit organization, serves over 178,000 residents of Providence County. For centuries, it has served Rhode Island's communities and continuously enhanced its collections and services. Currently, the library houses a collection of 956,500 volumes and circulates approximately 160,000 items annually. Located in downtown Providence, the library features a Makerspace equipped with tools such as sewing machines, 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, and Cricut machines, offering hands-on learning opportunities. Open Monday through Saturday, it hosts a variety of events, including workshops, book clubs, and storytime sessions.
