The Plainfield Area Public Library District serves 79,500 residents in Plainfield Village, unincorporated Plainfield Township, and portions of unincorporated Wheatland Township, the Village of Bolingbrook in Wheatland Township, and the Village of Romeoville in Plainfield Township. The library maintains a collection of 158,244 volumes and circulates approximately 654,790 items annually. It also provides book club kits, museum passes, and a variety of seeds for checkout. The library offers public computers, WiFi, printing (including wireless), 3D printing, scanning, faxing, notary public, test proctoring, tech classes, technology help, curbside pickup, and numerous other services and programs for kids, teens, and adults.
