The Mount Charleston Library is one of the locations of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District and serves 656,274 residents in the City of Las Vegas, Clark County. The District Library is a member of the Urban Libraries Council. It has more than 2.2 million volumes available on hand, with over 13.4 million items circulated annually. The Mount Charleston Branch was founded in March 1987 and is located in Old Town. It occupies a 2,800-square-foot building and holds about 5,500 volumes. It is open from Tuesdays through Saturdays and offers a wide range of programs for all ages, including weekly Read-a-long, Storytime, Family Art Classes, Movie Matinee, Game Club, and Writer's Studio.
