The Gothenburg Public Library is a Carnegie Library that serves about 3,400 residents of Gothenburg City in Dawson County, Nebraska. The Publicly funded Library, built in 1916, and recognized in the National Register of Historical Buildings, maintains a collection of approximately 31,000 volumes and circulates over 50,000 items per year, including print books, audio-visual materials, and old newspapers from Gothenburg Times and Gothenburg Independent. In addition, it provides preschool storytime, summer reading programs, and a variety of services for all ages.
