The Hockessin Public Library serves 13,878 residents in the City of Hockessin and is a New Castle County Library branch. The library, previously known as  Lamborn Library, began in 1934 through the efforts of the Hockessin Community Club and was incorporated as the Hockessin Public Library in 1977. It provides books, children's materials, hardcover fiction, paperback, movies, DVDs, and electronic collections contributing to the Library System's 749,185 volumes and roughly 3.5 million items circulated annually. Hockessin Public Library has two meeting rooms, three study rooms, 3D printing, and events such as Toddler Tales, Book Babies, Storytime, Family Fun Times, and Games.
